This issue didn’t blow my mind away, but didn’t need to. The inclusion of The Avengers and their use in the book was woven into the story and was an important part of it. Granted this first issue did offer story, but it was mostly exposition and set up for a future story. The book felt a lot like a classic Deadpool story with a lot of one- liners, inside jokes and sarcastic dialog, but not much story. This series seems like it would work for both old and new readers, but seems more targeted at new readers.
